With the NFL coming to Wembley Stadium this weekend, a stadium official has spoken of his desire to bring the Super Bowl to London in the future.
The stadium has hosted a one-off NFL fixture since 2007 and is currently making final preparations for Sunday's game between Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. This year will see two fixtures, with Jacksonville Jaguars and San Francisco 49ers heading across the pond in October.
Ben Rumsby, the managing director of Wembley, admits it would be a "big call" to bring the Super Bowl to England, but claimed: "If they were bringing it anywhere in the world, we want it here."
The Super Bowl is one of the largest sporting events in the world, and would undoubtedly be a premier event for the stadium. Pricewaterhousecoopers recently estimated that a Super Bowl could generate $150 million worth of revenue to a host city.
