Tottenham Hostpur’s building of a new 58,000-seater stadium is set to commence following government approval.

The site lays next to Spurs’ current ground at White Hart Lane in North London, their home since 1899.

The Premier League club, who have been clearing the land ready for the project, are hopeful of moving into the new stadium in 2017.

White Hart Lane has a record attendance of just over 75,000 people, set back in 1938. Now, the ground’s maximum capacity is only 36,230, and they have a season-ticket waiting list has more than 20,000 fans.
