Stamford AFC have announced that they have been given planning permission by South Kesteven District Council for a new 1,500-seater stadium.

The Evo-Stik First Division South side submitted plans for a new community venue last September and, after months of deliberation, they have finally been given the all-clear. The move will see them leave their home of more than 100 years, the PK Arena.

The Burghley House Preservation Trust, and the club, applied to demolish the site of their current ground and build 54 homes on it, in order for the Trust to build a new ground at a site in Ryhall Road, Stamford.

As well as the 1,500-seater stadium, plans also include a 3g training pitch, as well as office space, a club house and function rooms - all of which can be used by the wider community to provide the Daniels with extra revenue streams away from a match day activities.

The club hope to be in the new stadium for the start of the 2014-15 season.
