Rotherham United's New York Stadium will host international for the first time when Hope Powell's England Women's team take on Canada on Sunday April 7th.
The match, which will act as preparation for England's Euro 2013 campaign, will kick-off at 3pm in the League 2 side's stadium, which was opened at the start of this season.
“We feel privileged that the Football Association have granted Rotherham United the opportunity to host this international game at the New York Stadium,” said Millers Chairman Tony Stewart.
“When we opened the New York Stadium, we wanted to showcase it to the biggest audience as we could and after a number of sell-outs we are set to capture a new audience. We look forward to putting our home on show for the world to see, in what I believe will be a very good game.
“Women’s football has an ever-increasing following, and Hope Powell’s team have some magnificent individuals whose ability was showcased at the Olympic Games as part of Team GB.
“We are delighted that we will now be able to use New York Stadium as that setting for what should be a healthy crowd and people watching around the world on FAtv.”
