The University of Washington's new Husky Stadium will host its first football game on Saturday August 31st since a $280 million redevelopment.
Boise State are the opponents for Washington Huskies' first game of the new college football campaign which will officially brings an end to the 21-month project.
Improvements have been made throughout the venue including the removal of the running track which surrounded the field, the lowering of the playing surface and significant upgrades to player and coaches' amenities: therapy pools, meeting rooms, new offices and a recruiting lounge.
The renovated stadium's capacity has been lowered to 70,138 but that includes more than 4,000 premium seats.
Washington athletic director Scott Woodward said: "We can compete with anyone now as far as facilities. I'm very comfortable saying that with this new happening in football and this new facility. This is as good as it gets."
