PORTLAND TO HOST 2014 ALL STAR GAME

The 2014 MLS All Star game will take place in Portland for the first time in the match's history.

A traditional curtain-raiser to the season, the game will take place at the Jeld-Wen Field stadium next summer. The arena, home to MLS franchise the Portland Timbers, has a capacity of just over 20,000 seats.

The 2013 edition is due to take place in Kansas next week, with the match pitting the best players in MLS against Italian Giants AS Roma. 

Already confirmed players French legend Thierry Henry of the New York Red Bulls and the league's top scorer Chris Wondolowski.
