Peterborough United have resolved a dispute with the city council over the rent they pay at their London Road home.

The League 1 outfit refused to pay their £500,000 rent to the council last season but, in a new proposal, the club's rent has been lowered to £300,000 and the council has asked members to give the green light to an allocation of £1 million, which would fund ground improvements at the London Road end of the stadium.

The club sold the ground in 2003 and it was then sold to the council for £8m three years ago, and chairman Darragh MacAnthony has been fighting for reduced rent.

It is expected a vote between council members will take place on July 31st.
