The Milwaukee Bucks have unveiled preliminary architectural designs for a proposed $500 million arena.
Situated next to the NBA team’s current venue of the BMO Harris Bradley Center, which would be torn down, the building would be part of a proposed $1 billion entertainment area.
Alongside the new 17,000-seater arena, there would be retail facilities, hotels, residential offices and parking provisions.
The club’s current owners have committed to funding half of the build, with a further $220 million coming from Wisconsin state bonds.
Providing public sector funding can be secured, the Bucks would aim to open the facility by the start of the 2017/18 basketball season.
