LOCAL BUSINESS LOSES LEGAL CHALLENGE TO TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM REDEVELOPMENT

A family firm standing in the way of Tottenham Hostpur’s £400 million redevelopment of White Hart Lane has lost its High Court challenge.

Archway Sheet Metal Works asked a judge to quash the compulsory purchase order being used to force them out of Paxton Road, saying the order was “unlawful”.

However, the ruling stated there was “no legal flaw”.

As a result, Spurs can now buy all the ground needed to progress with the building of a new 56,000-capacity stadium on the same site as their current home.

The local business can still appeal the ruling.
