Construction work to extend Anfield will begin in the coming days, Liverpool Football Club have announced.
Work will begin to take the stadium's current capacity of 45,000 to around 59,000 in the £100million project.
The club have completed the purchase of the final house which will need to be demolished to make way for the extension plans, and work to the main stand's third tier will begin on Monday.
The redevelopment is set to be completed for the 2016/17 season, and extra seats, conference and banqueting facilities, a new club shop and more car parking will also be included.
Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre said: "It's great news for the football club. We've been trying to find a solution to stay at Anfield.
"This solution was one that the owners and everybody felt was the right one. Staying at the historical home of Liverpool Football Club and finding a solution that was economically viable was at the heart of that."
