Football fans have taken to Twitter to mourn the demolition of the Moy’s End Terrace at Peterborough United’s London Road ground.

Posh have been planning to knock down the away terrace at their stadium for a number of years, but work has finally started with half of the stand now demolished.

One message on the social networking site, from Wolves fan @AnnoDomini79 read: “[It] pains me to see the Moy’s End terrace shut.”

Another, from Posh fan @AndrewvdBK, said: “Gonna [sic] miss the Moy’s End.” One gentleman from the Netherlands also voiced his melancholy.

In the past, visiting supporters have had a choice of standing in the Moy’s End terrace or sitting in the Moy’s End enclosure, but the former option has been unavailable since the start of the 2013/14 season.

The League 1 club are building a 2,000-seater community stand as part of the redevelopment of London Road, which will see seats installed in the home terracing area, the London Road End.
