CLOCKING TICKING FOR FRIENDS OF DON VALLEY

Campaign group the Friends of Don Valley are appealing to Sheffield Council for more time to save the Don Valley Stadium.

The group, led by former athlete Lewis Samuel, are to meet with the council to request an extension to their application to label the sporting venue as a community asset.

The move comes days after the council asked for more information at short notice.

Samuel and coach Rob Creasey have accused the city leaders of 'moving goalposts' at the last minute.
