CITY WILL NOT BUILD NEW STADIUM

Bristol City will not build a new stadium at Ashton Vale.

City were given permission to erect a new ground at Ashton Vale in 2009 but construction has been blocked by a bid from protesters, who want to label the land as a town green.

The League 1 club will, however, develop their current home, Ashton Gate, providing they are given the green light.

The Robins have played at Ashton Gate since 1904 and planning permission has previously been granted for the stadium to be extended to a 42,000 capacity stadium.
