CAGLIARI STILL LOOKING FOR STADIUM

Italian Serie A team Cagliari are still without a permanent home ground, over a year since they decided to move.

The club are currently playing their home fixtures in Trieste, which is on the border with Slovenia and approximately 620 miles from the city.

Cagliari initially decided to leave their previous ground, the Stadio Sant'Elia, due to an argument with the local council. Since then, the club have played matches at the Stadio Is Arenas, despite some being played behind closed doors due to safety concerns.

A plan to redevelop the Stadio Sant'Elia was eventually approved, but the arena is still not yet fit to stage a game.

Cagliari coach Diego Lopez said: "It's very difficult to play away from home all the time. It's not easy because you never get used to it."
