CAGLIARI CLOSE TO STADIUM AGREEMENT

Italian Serie A side Cagliari are close to agreeing a deal which would see them permanently based at the Stadio Is Arenas from next season.

Without a home since the historic Stadio Sant’Elia was closed in early 2012 for safety reasons, the Italian club were forced to play their home games in Trieste before moving to the Stadio Is Arena last season.

The stadium has three temporary stands, with only the main stand a permanent construction.

If a deal is agreed, Cagliari would take tenancy of the stadium for the next three seasons.
