American baseball outfit Atlanta Braves have released plans for their new suburban stadium which is to be opened in 2017.

The venue, set to be named SunTrust Park, will have hotel, restaurant, shopping and office facilities in its vicinity, which now takes its overall cost to $622million.

The team are to move to their new stadium from their current Turner Field home, where they will have played for 20 years by their move-in date.

Stadium chiefs are now negotiating with several high-profile organisations over the tenancy of the surrounding property.

Derek Schiller, executive vice president of sales and marketing, said: "We're in the very early stages of discussions with a number of different retailers.

"We've begun to show them this plan as well as supportive information in the past 30 to 45 days. There's tremendous optimism from the marketplace and a great deal of interest."
