AIRDRIE UNITED AND QUEEN'S PARK TO GROUNDSHARE

Airdrie United may step up to end Queen's Park's stadium search.

Queen's Park are without a home for the 2013/14 season as Hampden Park will be closed whilst a new running track is put in ahead of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and it is expected the club will decide to temporarily play their home games at the Excelsior Stadium.

The Spiders were in the same predicament earlier this season when Hampden Park was used as a venue for the 2012 Olympic football tournament. During that spell, the club groundshared with Partick Thistle at Firhill, but Airdrie United's 10,171-capacity Excelsior Stadium is in pole position to be chosen as the club's home ground for the next season.
