AFC Wimbledon have received a boost in their bid to return to Plough Lane.
The League 2 club have been informed that they will be able to submit a planning application for a new stadium at the site of Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium.
The news comes after an independent report for Merton council confirmed the venue could be used for 'sporting intensification'.
Dons Chief Executive Erik Samuelson told the club's website: "There is still a long way to go and a lot of hard work to be done but this is a significant moment in our plans to return to Wimbledon."
