Swansea's Liberty Stadium will host its first competitive Wales fixture when Switzerland visits for their Euro 2012 qualifier.

It will be the first championship international match to be played at the venue, following-on from three friendly matches and an under 21 game held over the last six years. Liberty Stadium will host Wales' final home Euro 2012 qualifier on Friday 7 October.

Football Association of Wales chief executive, Jonathan Ford, said: "I am delighted that we are able to bring a championship game to Swansea and Switzerland will certainly be attractive opponents. I hope that everyone who supports Wales will look forward to the match and want to be there on the night to cheer the team-on."

The kick-off time for the match has yet to be confirmed. Wales have also confirmed they will play Australia for the first time in a friendly on 10 August, with the game to be held at either the Liberty or the Cardiff City Stadium.
