Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' has extended the naming rights deal of their stadium for the next two seasons.

It means their 12,000 capacity home will continue to be named the Rapid Solicitors Stadium for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The solicitor firm started their original sponsorship at Belle Vue earlier this year and is happy to be involved with their local rugby club.

Rapid Solicitors spokesman Martin Ward said: “As a Wakefield person, myself, I’m delighted to have extended our agreement with the Wildcats for a further two years. We have faith in the new owner, the club and their future plans. Our commitment to the Wildcats is also a commitment to our involvement in communities.”

The Wildcats were planning a move away from the stadium which has been their home since 1895 planning a brand new venue, but this was rejected by the council. The club has since decided to redevelop the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Wildcats commercial manager Martin Hopkins said: “We have shown how we can help market a company’s brand across the media, Rapid have shown great understanding of what we are about as a club and our importance in the community and the city of Wakefield.”
