Wembley’s Greatest Event has been shortlisted for the Sports Industry Award 2012 in the Best Use of Digital Communications in Sport Category.
Wembley’s entry included the launch of Wembley’s Facebook page along with the Super Fan competition, the re-launch of Wembleystadium.com, Wembley’s Greatest Event Campaign and the Wembley 360 23-Gigapixel panoramic photograph.
Competition for the award includes Badminton England, Betfair, NatWest, Nivea for Men and Slazenger. The Sport Industry Group worked with 40 key figures from the industry along with Deloitte to ensure the list of nominees represents the best the industry had to offer in 2011.
Nick Keller, the chairman of the Sport Industry Group, said: "Over the past 11 years we have seen some truly incredible campaigns honoured at the Sport Industry Awards, and when the industry comes together on 2 May we will once again be celebrating a fantastic year for the UK Sports business."
The shortlists will now go forward for consideration by the main Judging Panel, who will decide the winners for each category. The results will be announced a the Sport Industry Awards ceremony on Wednesday 2nd May 2012.
