Chesterfield’s b2net Stadium will stage an international match for the first time next month when England Under-19s face Germany in a friendly.

The game on February 8 is seen as a stern test for the Young Lions as both countries prepare for the European Championship Elite Round tournament in Switzerland in May.

England head coach Noel Blake said: "England versus Germany is always a heavily-weighted fixture at any level and this is the sort of opposition we want to face.

"Chesterfield has an excellent facility for us to use since their move from the old Saltergate ground. I've been down there a couple of times this season to watch them.

"It's a nice, new venue and we're looking forward to taking an England team there."

The b2net Stadium was unveiled at the start of the season and cost £13m to build.

Spireites chairman Barrie Hubbard added: "We’re absolutely delighted that in our first season at the b2net Stadium we are actually hosting an England International and appreciate being chosen to do so by the FA."
