WORK BEGINS ON NEW BRIGHTON STADIUM

Work on Brighton and Hove Albion's new stadium began last month with CA Roofing Services and the Buckingham Group kicking off the construction.

The Coca-Cola League 1 club are hopeful that their new 22,250 seater Community Stadium will be finished and ready for the start of the 2011/12 season.

At a cost of £93 million the stadium will be a state-of-the-art venue to host mainly football matches but is also designed to accommodate music concerts, exhibitions and conferences.

The main feature of the stadium will be its curved designed cladding which will be finished with aluminium panelling and glazing.

Oran McCloskey, the design Manager for Buckingham Group, is delighted to be working alongside their partners CA Roofing Services for the stadium design and construction.

"Buckingham Group has worked with CA Roofing Services on a number of projects in the past," McCloskey said. "And we're pleased to be working alongside them on the new Stadium.

"CA Roofing Services was involved during the design phase, helping us to achieve cost savings without compromising the design of the project."
