STADIA IMPROVEMENTS FOR EURO 2016 BID

Frédéric Thiriez, the President of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has issued proposed plans to build new and renovate existing Ligue 1 club stadiums as part of their bid proposal for the European Championships in 2016.

France are hoping that the the stadium plans will aid them in their bid to host EURO 2016 with new stadiums being built at Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon and Nice with renovation occurring at Lens, Marseille, Nancy, Paris, Saint-Etienne and Strasbourg to make them suitable for the Championships.

The project, which will get a £150 million cash injection from the French government, will provide 15,000 jobs.
