Tonight’s Super Bowl is expected to be the biggest yet with a predicted attendance of 110,000, smashing the previous record of 103,985.
It was set in the 1980 Super Bowl at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Los Angeles Rams. This time, the Steelers are playing the Green Bay Packers.
If every ticket holder manages to battle through the heavy snow the record attendance could exceed the population of Green Bay, which is about 104,000. Over 700 flights to and from Texas were cancelled this week, and several people were hurt by ice falling off the roof of the stadium.
Super Bowl XLV looks set to be the ultimate test for the $1.3 billion Cowboys Stadium which opened in 2009.
